Bearing the Cross

The piece that kickstarted the concept for my BFA degree; "The Abyss: Salvation in the Cosmic Sublime." The Abyss is a narrative series that focuses on a man, Alan, who succumbs to his destructive desire to escape from a hyper-industrial world. His journey begins with a surreal experience- a deep unfathomable void presents itself to him on his computer monitor one late night at the office. Looking for an escape from his monotonous life, he enters this void. Soon Alan finds himself in a nightmarish dimension, yet oddly enough, he finds it more comforting than the life he had known (that is despite the tribulations he faces whilst seeking redemption in this unfamiliar world.)
